Championing Clean Air With Andy Wirth’s OP-ED

As the country strive to partner with various institutions to do away with coal energy, large cities have put this prospect in the ballot. The city of Reno, Nevada took this turn just recently. In a recent article that appeared in Reno Gazette-Journal, Andy Wirth, who is a CEO and a philanthropist outlined the meeting held by the City Council that approved Clean Power Plan. Andy Wirth recognized that through voting to support the initiative, the council is now among the numbers that are supporting clean air and it has put its thoughts in line with various clean air businesses and corporations that are supporting the path to cleaner air. Wirth recognizes that these forces emerge from various backgrounds, but have merged forces to support clean environment something that has earned praise from Andy.

Wirth highlighted that the goal of shifting attitudes on going green was no longer being worked on, but asserted that we are all on a similar page with corporations pioneering the way. Andy Wirth commended the council’s efforts in keeping the grip on utility and power companies to amend their corrupt ways.

Wirth asserted that the time to pressure our elected leaders for greater cooperation in respects to clean air was now. “We have to steer them towards making sound decisions like the one that was just made by Reno City, and we should not cave in to lobbyists who are not working with us towards the common goals of clean and safe air”. Wirth concludes the op-ed with a request on immediate action for the elected officials to work with an aim of bettering the world through adoption of more regulations like the Clean Power Plan.

Andy Wirth acts as the CEO of the Squaw Valley Ski Holdings. He is also an active supporter of the community services and environmental organizations that are aimed at improving the area around Lake Tahoe as well as the residents residing there. After cheating death during a sky diving accident, Wirth joined forces with the Ironman and created Wounded Warrior Support, which supplies support and raises funds to the Navy Seals as well as their families.

Wirth was born in 1963 in Neubrucke, West Germany. He is an alumnus of Edinburgh University and Colorado State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. He worked for Rocky Mountain National Parks as a backcountry ranger. Andy has received various professional and community involvement awards. He is married, has three kids, and resides in Truckee, CA.
